Here is a picture I drew. I was gonna use it for a thing but I dunno if I will, so here it is.
Edit to add: I made wallpapers of this image in different sizes, and updated the scottpilgrim.com Media page with a bunch of additional fanart and icons.

Playing with Painter a bit in an effort to develop my digital colouring abilities or something. I decided to share. There's also my first attempt from yesterday on there. Painter doesn't seem as difficult as it used to, hopefully because I have become a stronger artist!

I uploaded a few sketchbook pages from the making of Scott Pilgrim Vol 3, possibly interesting to those who are interested in these... uh... things.
You can go to my "sketchbook" tag on flickr to see them in one convenient place.

more coming!
we're going to Toronto tomorrow, and I don't have much to say today, but here's a new version of an old picture.
Since the book won't be ready, I thought it would be nice to have SOMETHING, so I put together this postcard:

It'll be a nice glossy 4x6 postcard. I'll have them at Paradise con in Toronto next weekend, and maybe similar buttons, too. I think the postcards will be $1 since, uh, they cost me money to make, and I would like to recoup that money.
I'm also getting enough postcards (I think) to send them out along with books, when I start doing mail-order for Book 3. Late May / early June for that.
EDIT: at someone's request, I also thought to make desktop-wallpaper versions for your computering delight.

a really tiny snippet that i inked today. No, actually, i inked it a few days ago, but i guess i just finished the page and scanned it. i'm not almost done! but i'm rolling along pretty well lately.

this is a self portrait i did a few days ago, as indicated by the huge date on the drawing. i got new shoes, and jenne sent us these awesome rubber watches, so i drew a cute-ified version of myself as a warmup.
today was mostly work. i also made risotto for dinner, and hope baked bread this evening, and we went outside in the snow a few times. it was a good day. work days are good days.

my hands are SO DRY lately! they itch and are horrible and dry and stuff! i've tried EVERYTHING! (not really. i've tried hardly anything.)
sorry for not posting much but, you know, trying to finish the book before it's too late and the monsters eat me.
In my free time (which does not occur every day) I have been very slowly playing Resident Evil 4, which I got for christmas. You know, actually, I vaguely remember Resident Evil 2 being more "fun"... this one is kind of dour and cranky and european. I do not like dudes with chainsaws cutting my head off, and on the boss I last finished, I apparently died 9 times (this is what I was told after finishing the level). So, not so great at this stuff.

Here's some panels i've drawn recently that I really like. I feel like I'm getting a handle on my inking. I'm turning into a cocky-inkin' son of a bitch.

cropped down from a big panel with a long rant. This is very Penny Arcade-looking, to my eyes. It's very Gabe-ish. Maybe it turned out that way because of the fact he's doing a long rant.

just a little panel that i inserted in an earlier scene. I like this panel so much. It's the best panel I have ever drawn.
I have a feeling the whole Batgirl meme thing really did bring the world of LJ-cartoonists grinding to a halt. Have you seen how many there are on that list now? like 300 or something! I don't know, people are afraid to count! I saw that it got linked on drawn, and they used my picture. I feel extremely special. So special I could burst.
EDIT: now there are like 9000 batgirls and it was on boingboing and everything. when's the batgirl backlash? is that tomorrow?

EDIT: this was like the batgirl night of terror. and I just realized it's Friday the 13th. It went from 8 or 10 batgirls at bedtime to 40+ this morning. (and well past 100 this evening)
started because of http://www.livejournal.com/users/andiwa
a list of batgirls at http://www.livejournal.com/users/himyna
I did mine after seeing Josh Lesnick's, just for record-keeping purposes. (And Meredith posted hers as I was scanning mine..)
EDIT AGAIN: i've gotten something like 75 new friendings just because of drawing batgirl. give me a break! that's cool, though, the magic of the internet and everything. if you've never seen my work, please buy Scott Pilgrim. If you have seen my work and have just newly discovered my livejournal, welcome. This is a totally public journal and it is linked from my website, but I guess most people miss it.
EDIT #3:
Here's a preview of this weekend's updates. I will update the site officially once I finish #25, which is kind of big, and needs to be colored. These are all for people who ordered them last October or November or whatever.

I'm just posting this to convince myself to draw more. Oh, and finish those watercolors that have been hanging over my head since November or something.
