spoiler, originally uploaded by radiomaru.

The first printing of Vs The Universe has a sweet foil cover! It's sweet because it's foil! It shines like the sun and a million rainbows and a pot of gold and a leprechaun's cheeks!

Got some other crap to tell you about, too. You may have noticed the pink-and-black band of paper on the book - it's just a little extra something for the lucky people who pick up copies of the book next week in New York. Here's a slightly better shot:

SP5 NY promo swag

Also exclusive is this awesome shirt (it's $20):

AND, coming next week, our friend "the Cubeecraft guy" has put together a whole whack of Scott Pilgrim figures. You'll be able to download them online and everything. For free. And apparently the ones in this photo are just the beginning...

Alright, cool! Sorry it took so long for me to post this stuff. I had a busy evening cooking dinner for fifty people etc.

How much is the shirt? Getting one of those is COMPLETELY necessary.

I have no idea!

Probably 20 bucks.

i really wish i was able to go all the way to newyork :(

I'm gonna do some events in The Southeast later this year if that helps any.

haha, cool. the foil cover looks sweet.

YAY! NYC SWAG! SWOON.
I'm so excited.

Oh man I wish I was going to NY now these would be worth the trip all together.

So are all covers going to holographic or are those NY exclusives to?

All the first printing are foil. You'll get one unless you wait 6 months to buy the book.

Awesome! That's really going to set it out :) I wonder how many people will literally be blinded by awesome.

foil cover? suh-weet! the shiny makes me even more glad I preordered

This is all very much full of win.

On another note...what were you doing cooking for 50 people!?

oh the curse of living in New York State but being too young to go down to the city myself. That pink piece of paper is for some reason EXTREMELY attractive to me.

I want one of dem paper things but I can't fold. woe is me
btw did that shirt you had at the convention ever become available online?

I'm glad to be getting a first run book. It had better be waiting for me at my comic shop next week. *shakes fist of righteous fury*

All these events along the East Coast. Will we poor folks in the Midwest ever feel the love? Another question, should I send some friends in Toronto to Beguiling for anything exclusive?

Beguiling: Not at present, no.

But is that a foil cover WITH A HOLOGRAM, sir??

Jesus, that is slick lookin'!

And here everyone thought it were a CD, even.

You need to come to Vancouver. Or even better, Victoria. There's definitely a fan base over here.

Nice on the manga style paper strip around the book. That's to advertise the anime and video game right?

Or, in the case of Tezuka's "Apollo's Song", to cover up the sexy lady figure.

I need to call you.

Don't forget to pick up that copy of Fine Literature at Jim Hanley's! You surly man, you.

Hey Bryan! My name is Matt, I'm a big fan of yours. I'm an assistant and friend of Periscope Studio here in Portland, OR. I'm attending an Oni Press launch party here in Portland and I can't wait to get my hands on #5! James said he was bringing some exclusive stuff to the party so I can't wait to see it all. Congrats on launching the new book! :-)

All these geographical extras being added to the books based on where you got your copy and none of them are within my reach...Atleast I'll get the foil cover. :\
Assuming the comic shop ordered enough copies this time so I dont have to catch the subway across town again to get it on release day.

I like that the squared-Ramona is based on her current character design!

are the tees just for comic con or will they be available at the ny store signings too?

aww mannnnn! you had me at "foil cover"! and then the papercrafts just killed me dead! thats so rad!

Holofoil! Wow, I need to get myself two of those!! One to read and one to get CGC graded!!

Will there ever be shirts available for people who cant drive hundreds and hundreds of miles? Like over the internet?

Well, I'm still stoked for the new book, but sometimes you wanna advertise, ya know?

Figures... as soon as I say that I re-check the onipress site to see that they are finally not sold out of every shirt again.

I hang my head in shame... but soon in my sweet new SP shirt!

OKay, I TOTALLY called this!

Aw, man, that paper band's a nice touch.
