today is okay

We spent the day recording some Imperial Otter. Jon and Paul didn't come but it went really well and we were all very pleased with the results.

Someone posted in my journal and alerted me that the Fourth Rail reviews of Lost at Sea are up. They're both good reviews and they got what I hoped they'd get out of the book, so I am pleased. I'll never have the kind of perspective I need to see if the book even makes sense, so if you guys start getting copies and reading it, let me know how it goes.

Yes, the book should be available at comic stores that ordered it this Wednesday, at least in North America. I'm not sure how it works in Europe and the rest of the world.

The last time I was in Chicago Comics (a week ago) I asked some tentative questions about Lost at Sea. "It's apparently coming out at such and such a date, do you guys reserve copies of things, blah blah?" The guy looked at me like I had four heads, and made a couple comments about how I should come back closer to the release date. Closer WHEN? Jeez. There was nothing to do but slink out with my tail between my legs, having committed yet another incorregible faux pas. God forbid I EVER try and figure out how comic shops work, huh? HUH?? What if they only get one copy?! Matthew and I are gonna have to fight to the death over it! SOB!

I just called comix rev(in evanston, 30 minutes north of chicago comics-if you can get the purple line express) and they said they carry all of oni's releases and thus should have it.

jacob and i reserved our copies at our comic shop. but they seemed to have no idea when it would be coming in. if it doesnt get there this wed i think we may consider amazon-ing it.
