Written by Hope Larson and drawn by myself. Read it here and tell us what you think.

EDIT: The art is done with pen, watercolor, crayon, and some CG elements (mostly lighting effects). The lettering was done with ComiCraft's "Monologous" font.

I already commented on Hope's journal, but I wanted to say on here that I loved the story. The ending was pitch perfect and the art is really stunning. The watercolors and crayons work well!

Congrats on a job well done, I hope we get more amazing collaborations between you two!

Awesome! Good pacing, good build, nice twists, instant character identification.

I hope it's not a true story.

We joke that it's Hope's answer to the Apatow "bromance" genre. Driftless slacker guy meets attractive, driven girl, and the inevitable ensues! Good thing his "bro" was late to the comic.

Hope twittered that and I read it instantly.

That was so good. Goats!

Though i have to admit I instantly made the worst pun imaginable to my friends after they read it.

My friend matt said "Goat eyed girls do it to you every time."
And I just replied with "Yeah, they just pull the wool right over your eyes."

Sooo... apologies.

Really cool though. You two did a really cool job.

Haaaaaa! That's great. Thank you!

Dude, I knew Circe was still around pullin' stuff like that.

Excellent short! Thanks!

whoa! so creepy and awesome and so very very creepy!

I was going to say I want to see more of this, but you know what? I kind of like it just as it is. :)

Awesome. Classic folk-tales-ey.

I love this. Nice job on the coulours !

I already said it was dope over on Hope's LJ, and I don't want to repeat myself.

So uh... that was really terrible you guys!

(Oh no it wasn't, you saw right through my bluff...)

HOLY SHIT. I was not expecting that in the slightest.

I think you two need to make more stories like this (even though I know you're both very busy). It's an obvious perfect combination and extremely appealing. Definitely just added more inspiration for Dark Rainbow (especially in the coloring).

This is great in at least seven ways.

Absolutely lovely. The ending caught me completely off-guard. D:

One more for "that was great" and "holy ending, Batman" and "dang, those sure am some colours, chief." Y'know, to round out the trifecta of things that this was rad for.

Evin! we are crazy running-into-each-other all the time now on Internet!

That's fun. Interesting to see you guys work on a project together. Is this the first one?

Yeah, first one. Hopefully not the last one, but it probably is, at least for a few years.

AHWHAT.

So. Nola pretty much has the lifestyle I've always wanted.

wow, that was really really good, and not jsut your drawings, which are great as usual, especially colored, but the very greek mythological like story. It's really good. reminds me a lot of the Oddissey, when the sailors get turned into pigs bi circe... was that her name?

Lovely! Awesome work you guys :D Cute story, cute characters and I really like your colouring (yay crayons!)

I loved the art. But why was Nola welding a gate in the woods, if she just wanted to drive away afterwards?

Maybe she's just driving to the mall or something. I don't think she's leaving permanently.

woah. that scared me a little. goat eyed girls. yikes! i really loved the coloring. watercolor?

i dig it!
i love the watercoloring, it gives it more of a "storybook" vibe (if that makes any sense, which knowing my brain it probably doesn't)

the story is nice and fun, you two make a rad team.

man wtf
it's like something haruki murakami would write

Great colors, Nola's pretty great too XD... and that mysterious gate?!...

that was great! i really love the art and i didn't see the ending coming at all.

That's really neat! She's a pretty mystical character and that ending was hilarious. Very nice differenciation in style between this and SP too.
