I know I said I would try to post something more interesting, but I decided to post something much less interesting instead.

In my continuing experiments with creating an online archive of songs I've made, here's another collection of music for you to download.

For the not-that-interested, here's one track to get: "You Just Don't Exist", a cover of a Plumtree song (recorded by me in May 2005, after finishing Scott Pilgrim Vol 2).

I put this set together in October 2006, then kind of forgot about it for a while. It's a good variety of miscellaneous tracks I recorded between 2002 and early 2006, stuff that never got included on the "official" collections, covers, junk. I tried to correct the sound on everything, so it shouldn't be too offensive to your ears. Some points of interest, some fun stuff, whatever.

Here's some more information on each track.

the more you post new music, the more I want to find the old stuff I missed somewhere.

Awkward Songz is old stuff (from 2003-2005). I'll be putting more old stuff up soon.

It's good hearing some of the stuff I missed and stuff that never got released. "She's an Inventor" has long been a favourite of mine since I heard it (on your purevolume page? I can't really rmember), and I couldn't grasp why it wasn't on an album.

I have very strong ideas about what should and shouldn't go on albums, i guess. Even though my "albums" are all just strings of mp3s. I like the idea of people listening to the songs in the right sequence for cumulative effect, and some songs don't add anything to the sequence or the cumulative effect?

From a girl who picked up the Pilgrim books solely based on the name and a love of Plumtree, I'm super excited how much you pay homage to them. Especially since I have never even met anyone who's heard them. Not in the US anyway...

That's how I felt all thru high school / college / my whole life. I'm glad to be spreading the good word about Plumtree (I've even become good friends with one of the former members! she played harmonica at my only acoustic concert ever and she might record some stuff for some future recordings of mine.)

Understandably so. You have great restraint in not inculding some of these songs on your albums.

PS, where's Bullshit Kid?!()

Oh man! I was totally going to ask for something like this, and I was all worked up to it, and then I decided it was actually a stupid idea and asking would be embarrassing so I didn't.

So, uh, thanks!

I put it together in October. I just remembered why i didn't put it online then, and it's because Bright Eyes ended up releasing a rarities collection right around that time, and I didn't want to feel like I was copying him. Oh vanity!

It's pretty badass that I finally bought my ass a new iPod after being without MP3s-on-the-go for two years, and I come home to find two new (er, one new, one remastered) albums from you. I loaded myself up with over six hours of Kupek (and Faux Photos) right away.

It's also cool to have both "Awkward Songs" albums now that the original is lost to the internets.
