1. Go arbitrarily rank Hope's shirt design on Threadless! It's easy!
North Wind - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

2. My friend Jim Zubkavich is taking orders for his book, The Makeshift Miracle, for which I did a little full-colour pinup. It's a collection of his classic webcomic, which you can now read online for free! He is also looking to book 350 preorders in order to make back his costs, so if you have an interest in the book and have on your person $22 including shipping, you should click on the gigantic Paypal button over there.

3. Appearances are starting to pile up for next spring. Oh man, are we ever going to appear. In the nearer future, Hope and I have a signing at the Beguiling, Toronto, Saturday September 16th, 5 PM 'til whenever. Please come, please tell your friends. I'll bring artwork and give you deep discounts!

Is there a possibility you'll ever make an appearance in the Seattle area (possibly at Emerald City Comic Con)?

No, there is no possibility that i will ever appear in the Seattle area, ever. sorry!

just kidding... there's no particular plans for it right now, though. I'm sure i'll head out to Portland/Seattle at some point, hopefully in 2007.

If the Threadless thing doesn't pan out (and even if it does!) I think you and Hope should look into Spreadshirt. They're like Cafe Press, but good. They'll only print what people order! Yeah!

Aw hell! I screwed up!

I meant The Adorables. But Spitfires are playing too! It's all the same band members anyway, isn't it?

2PM, $10 tickets. http://www.myspace.com/hfab

I never heard of them before. God damn it, that's the kind of band that just makes me sad that I'm not in it. Or in any band. Because i spend all my time drawing comics and i live 45 minutes outside any major (or minor) city.

Well, you're sort of a one-man-band, no? So like, that's pretty sweet.

They're pretty good, H-Fab. Very similar to Born Ruffians, if you know them. Or a less melancholy Spitfires? That's not even the right word. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. (You do.)

Woo! My husband and I are actually going to be in Toronto next weekend and now we have something to do!

I mean, other than watch him and Zub play guitar hero. Something for me.

For what it's worth ...
I dunno if anyone else has linked this, but Wil Wheaton (the former Star Trek: TNG dude) briefly mentioned your work in the second paragraph of this blog entry:

Hey Bryan, I hate to bug you for this but I have a question. With backgrounds have you used any help books or is it all just from looking at other people's work, practise and reference?
