"There are lots of comics about nerdy boys, but fewer about nerdy girls, and I think there should be more!"

Hope Larson has a book deal with Simon & Shuster and you can read about it here, thanks to Heidi MacDonald and Publishers Weekly Comics Week!

Note: I am currently married to Hope Larson. (woo)

No. I might turn it into a webcomic one day (cue Hope laughing at me).

is she calling salamander dreams and gray horses hollow objects d'art? while that whole statement sounded like selling out, i must admit i'd probably prefer a little more plot and dialogue.

awww, i feel privileged. apparently my friend knocked over an atm in his excitement to get sp3 signed. please don't tell me knives is out for the count; every story is better with a crazy chick in it.

No, but my interests and intentions have changed. Nobody put me up to it, believe me.

If earning a living wage is "selling out," by all means! :)

Congrats on dealings of book for Hope.

Also, friend-based plug for No Pink Ponies, a webcomic about a nerdy girl. :3

it doesn't count, because it's a comic about a nerdy girl but it's done by a nerdy guy.

Heh. "Currently". Nice choice of words...

But in all seriousness, congratulations on your success, both of you.

I entirely agree with the quote. I usually see a regular-Jane or a beautiful...beauty. And I think that most girls that actually read comics will be able to relate to a girl that reads comics, other than one who rides horses and lives in a mansion (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I'm sure that someone who has horses to ride would prefer that over comics--but that's just my opinion).
